Olympic Park in Sochi

Bugaz Spit

The land strip stretches for twelve kilometers between the Black Sea and the Bugaz estuary. Its width is about three hundred meters. Covered with a mixture of coquina sand and pebbles. This is the best place for kitesurfing in Russia. The reasons lie in the local winds, shallow waters and the open sea. You can hire an instructor on the spit. Dolmens of the Western Caucasus

Abrau-Durso

Mount Akhun

Caucasian biosphere reserve

Founded in 1924. The total area exceeds two thousand eight hundred square kilometers. The territory was originally a hunting ground for the great dukes. The fauna is diverse; large species, such as bison, are considered especially valuable. The flora is not inferior in diversity, and here there are ancient species that can grow only under certain conditions. Moving around the reserve is allowed only along one of the approved routes.

Lake Kardyvach

Located at the foot of the Dividing Range. Two rivers flow into it: the Upper Mzymta and the Kuteheku. Height above sea level - 1838 meters. Over the past decades, the lake's waters have been somewhat crushed. The maximum depth is about seventeen meters. There are no fish in the lake. The trout that lives in the Mzymta River cannot overcome the waterfall, therefore it does not enter Kardyvach.

Eagle rocks

They are located in the Sochi National Park. Their height is 125 meters above the level of the Agura River, which flows at the foot. The cliffs are almost vertical and consist of limestone and sandstone on the surface. The peaks are covered with rather dense vegetation: pines, eastern hornbeam, oaks. Some legends associate Prometheus with these rocks. Therefore, a statue of him appeared on the top.

Mud volcanoes of the Taman Peninsula

They are not located in a dense ridge, but are scattered around the surroundings. These active volcanoes erupt useful mud, rich in minerals. Lake Sukko

An artificial reservoir is located on the Abrau Peninsula. The dam is two meters high. Height above sea level - forty meters. Part of the pond is called "Swamp cypress" and is a natural monument. Fishing and swimming are prohibited here, although the flow of tourists is not decreasing due to restrictions. The purpose of Sukko is fish farming and irrigation of nearby areas.

Guam gorge

Location - the headwaters of the Kurdzhips river. The gorge is abruptly cut off by rocks about four hundred meters high. Its length is five kilometers. It originates in Guamca along with the narrow gauge railway. The canvas stretches to the village of Memzai. Now, due to a landslide, there is a blockage on the narrow-gauge railway. The gorge is a favorite place for rock climbers. Competitions are held here and there are over two hundred developed tracks.

Akhshtyrskaya cave

Opened in 1903. It is located in the Adlerovsky district. The depth is about one hundred and sixty meters. A primitive man's camp was found inside. Full-scale excavations were carried out. Traces of people from different eras have been found. For some time the cave was guarded, visitors were not allowed. Now you can get here by ticket, as well as as part of an excursion group.

Gorgippia Open Air Museum

Located in Anapa. It occupies about two hectares. It is one of the objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. The main part of the exposition is the excavation of an ancient city that existed before our era. Some objects are well preserved: foundations, cobbled streets, partly fortresses, etc. The museum itself displays household items and other artifacts found here.

Turkish fountain

Located in the center of Taman. The exact time of construction is unknown, but it dates from the time of the existence of the Ottoman Empire. The only landmark of that era.
